    Security model

ShareFiles uses Web Crypto only: ECDH P-256 key agreement, AES-256-GCM encryption for every chunk, and SHA-256 integrity checks. Relays never see plaintext.

Every step is written out, and the most common questions are answered.

    Two layers of encryption

Every WebRTC link is encrypted with a fresh ECDH key exchanged in the QR codes (on top of WebRTC's own DTLS). Every file chunk is also encrypted end-to-end to the receiving device's key, so a relay in the middle only forwards ciphertext.

    Integrity

Each chunk carries its SHA-256 hash and the whole file is verified after reconstruction. A mismatch stops the transfer with FILE CORRUPTED and nothing is saved.

    No absolute claims

No software is 100% secure. Verify you are pairing with the right device by checking its ID, and keep your browser updated.
