MeshLink
MeshLink features
Everything in MeshLink runs inside your browser. There is no messaging server, no account and no phone number.
Real peer-to-peer messaging
Messages travel over a WebRTC data channel straight from one phone to another on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot. Status lights in the app show the browser's real connection state — never a hardcoded “connected”.
QR pairing without a server
Phone A shows an invite QR containing its real WebRTC offer. Phone B scans it and shows a reply QR. Once Phone A scans the reply, the phones connect directly. No signaling server is involved.
End-to-end encryption
Each device creates a P-256 key pair with the Web Crypto API. Messages are sealed with AES-256-GCM using a key only the two people share. Relays forward ciphertext they cannot read.
Multi-hop relay and store-and-forward
- Every packet has a unique ID, so duplicates are dropped.
- A time-to-live of 10 stops loops.
- Relays learn routes from real traffic and fall back to sending to every neighbour.
- If nobody can reach the recipient yet, the encrypted packet waits on the device (IndexedDB) and is sent the moment a route appears.
Honest receipts
- ✓ Sent — handed to a real peer connection
- ✓✓ Delivered — only after the recipient's MESSAGE_ACK arrives
- ✓✓ Read — only after a READ_ACK arrives
- Waiting for route — stored and encrypted, not yet sent
Installable app
Add MeshLink to your home screen. After the first visit the app files are cached so it opens without internet.
