Frequently Asked Questions
How do I create a QR code for a URL?
Paste your URL into the input field, customize the size and colors if you want, then click PNG or SVG to download. The QR code is generated instantly in your browser — no signup, no watermark, no usage limits.
Are QR codes from this tool free to use commercially?
Yes. QR codes generated here are 100% free for personal and commercial use — menus, business cards, packaging, posters, ads, anything. We don't add tracking, branding, or watermarks.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. We generate static QR codes that encode your URL or text directly, so they work forever and never need a subscription. (Dynamic QR codes that redirect through a server can expire — these are different.)
How do I scan a QR code with my phone?
Open your phone's camera app and point it at the code — modern iOS and Android cameras scan automatically. You can also upload an image to the Scanner tab here, or use your webcam to scan live.
What's the best error correction level to pick?
Use Medium (15%) for most cases. Use Quartile or High (25–30%) if you'll add a logo on top, print at small sizes, or apply the code to a curved or textured surface where part of it might get damaged.
Can I change the QR code colors and still have it scan?
Yes — as long as the foreground is significantly darker than the background. Avoid inverted (light foreground, dark background) codes and ensure contrast above 4.5:1. Test with your phone before printing.
